There is nothing prehistoric about this toy, except maybe for the fact that it is a dino after all.  With its cool futuristic gear, features, and add ons, this Pterodactyl really does keep up with the modern standards of toys today.

What’s the Story?

One of the great things about all the toys created for the Imaginext line is that they all come with a background story that helps stimulate the imagination of budding little children.  In the case of the Imaginext Dinosaurs, the story goes like this.

Basically, you are taken to a time where dinosaurs are not extinct.  This time is not in the far out past but somewhere in the distant future.  Here, humans have geared up the dinosaurs so that they can be used either for battle or for work which is basically mining for Volcanium, the element used to power Dino Camp.

When all geared up, the Fisher-Price Imaginext Pterodactyl Dino looks like one lean mean flying machine.  This dinosaur has two blasters that go under its wings and can shoot out projectiles for one heck of an air attack.  On its back it has a little control station where your tiny futuristic soldier can take control.  It also has a cool helmet, and a rock and axe.

When stripped of all of its armor, this dinosaur takes on the classic prehistoric look.  It is basically an orange Pterodactyl with a wide 18 inch wing span.  Even its claws are the same color.  However, it does have yellow running from the front its neck all the way down to the bottom of its belly.

But whether all suited up for the future or bare for the past, this interactive Dinosaur toy can move its claws for some awesome grabbing action by a simple pull of the trigger- its tail.

The Fisher-Price Imaginext Pterodactyl Dino comes to be 11 x 4 x 7.5, not including the wing span that is.  That is why this toy is perfect for kids from ages 3 and up to play with and hold.  It is just the right size for tiny hands.
