The Back Story:

As mentioned earlier, from prehistoric to futuristic, the dinosaurs are no longer extinct.  Actually, they are very much alive and kicking somewhere in the far out future.  In this imaginary time, humans actually utilize these dinosaurs and control them with cockpits that have been attached to the dinos, along with all sorts of high tech gear.  Here, humans either led them to battle or use them for finding Volcanium- the only power supply in this future Dino camp.

Without all of the futuristic gear, the Fisher-Price Imaginext Apatosaurus Dino looks just like the prehistoric long neck that all little boys are familiar with.  It is blue form head to tail except for the belly area running up its neck, that part is cream, and the claws that are black.

Once geared up, this interactive dinosaur looks totally different.  It has a black control panel where a human figure can sit that fits perfectly on its back.  This extends to its head where it serves as a helmet of sorts.  When its time to go to battle, this dinosaur is fully armed with disk launchers that can shoot gliders at the enemy.   When it is time for work, it has a crane that is great for picking up things and hauling them in.

The Fisher-Price Imaginext Apatosaurus Dino measures to be 10 x 5 x 11 inches.  That means that this toy is just the perfect size for little hands to play and tinker with.  It’s not too big nor is it too small.  All of the gear, from the launchers, to the control station, to the crane, can all be taken out leaving the creature to be just a plain dinosaur if that is how your child wants to play with it.  But part of the fun  is also putting all of it back on.
